Three Weeks for Dreamwidth is a celebration of the platform's anniversary, running April 25-May 15. During this time, people post content only visible on Dreamwidth (although it can be reposted elsewhere after the event ends). There's usually a flurry of activity as bloggers share anchor posts, new fiction, icons, banners, questionnaires, friending fests, memes, and other goodies. Community hosts often hold special activities in their communities too. Watch your reading page for more festivities.

Are you posting about creative bingo or related activities (e.g. prompt lists, tables)? You can crosspost those entries here. Are you doing anything for Three Weeks in your blog or other community? Post a comment about that to attract more readers. Follow the Threeweeks feed. See my 2024 Questionnaire and a list of other thematic questionnaires.

How long have you belonged to this community? What attracted you to it? How often do you play?

I can't be sure, but my first post tagged allbingo in my journal is Feb 1st 2015, for Valentines/Anti-Valentines Day.
I admit I don't play so much but one of the things I love about the community is that you can crosspost bingo claims from other bingo communities, including closed ones where you've generated cards for your own use based on their prompt lists.
I like to see the themes and what people come up with.

What do you like best about creative bingo? Do you feel that it helps you as a creative person?
I often need a bit of a nudge/excuse to create and bingo definitely helps me with that.

What are some of your favorite bingo themes? Are those single events, recurring, or a mix of both?

Obviously I enjoyed the Valentine/anti-valentine, and I had so much fun with the Meet Ugly (May 2019); in the past I've also enjoyed the Solo Celebration/Merry Month of Masturbation theme, the "Finish It" Bingo (narrator: she did not in fact finish it) and played the "Month of Rainbows" in April 2017. I like that there are regular events to look forward but with some new/irregular ones for variety.

Do you participate in other bingo communities? If so, what are some of your favorites?

I miss hurt/comfort bingo and angst bingo! Also Trope Bingo, Dark bingo.
There was also kink bingo, bloody bingo which I never finished, origfic bingo, cotton candy bingo, and snap-shot bingo which asked for photographs and I wish that would come back also! The snapshot bingo community has been deleted and purged :/ My bingo is here but I'm sad we don't have a list of the prompts.
I'm currently doing [community profile] genprompt_bingo.
Not really bingo but I'm also incredibly slowly working on 100 fandoms. We're doing mini bingo cards over at [community profile] lands_of_magic this round which is fun.

Do you typically create fills in the same format or fandom, or spread them out over different kinds? What will readers find in your work?
Mostly fanfic and graphics (mostly icons). I did play around with different formats last genprompt bingo with a pencil drawing I did and then edited in photoshop, and a poem, collages, and rec lists.

Have you ever made blackout (filled all the prompts on a card)? If so, how many times?
Six times: The allbingo meet ugly and solo celebration (2016) Trope Bingo round 3, 6 and 8; Darkship prompt meme (LJ community now purged)

Have you ever hosted a bingo fest here? If so, what was your favorite theme(s)? If not, what themes might you fantasize about hosting?
No. Maybe bringing back one of the bingos I miss, some mix of the hurt/comfort, angst prompts with some cotton candy ones thrown in to lighten the mood! Or snapshot bingo, but that was only for photos and theoretically many prompts could be used for photographs. But I'm not really up for running anything right now.

r/Fantasy's annual speculative fiction bingo challenge is up on Reddit.

It's a reading challenge, a reading party, a reading marathon, and YOU are welcome to join in on our nonsense!

r/Fantasy Book Bingo is a yearly reading challenge within our community. Its one-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new authors and books, to boldly go where few readers have gone before . . . (well, many actually because this is the TENTH year of our existence).

The core of this challenge is encouraging readers to step out of their comfort zones, discover amazing new reads, and motivate everyone to keep up on their reading throughout the year

How long have you belonged to this community? What attracted you to it? How often do you play?
The first card I can track down is dated June 2020, so nearly four years. I like having prompts to work on for the month. I play whenever I like the theme.

What do you like best about creative bingo? Do you feel that it helps you as a creative person?
I enjoy the challenge, especially as I usually try to tie each square up into one story or short connected stories. It definitely helps me to create because there's normally enough breadth to
work with.

What are some of your favorite bingo themes? Are those single events, recurring, or a mix of both?
I really enjoy Winterfest in July and Fall Fest, but also those with a fairly wide general theme, that I can fit into my own fandoms. Also, because it's relaxed, I can change a square so it becomes more appropriate - one example being when there were a collection of famous cookery book titles, I changed some of mine from American to British to find the equivalent.

Do you participate in other bingo communities? If so, what are some of your favorites?
No, but I do enjoy bingos when my other communities run one, like [community profile] whatif_au is currently running a bingo.

Do you typically create fills in the same format or fandom, or spread them out over different kinds? What will readers find in your work?
Normally fanfic, although for Crafting I posted collages of different crafts I do which fitted. Generally a bit of fluff, a bit of casefic, the odd bit of crack.

Have you ever made blackout (filled all the prompts on a card)? If so, how many times?
I do normally make a blackout, but then I tend to go for 2x2 cards, or 3x3 cards for drabble month.

Have you ever hosted a bingo fest here? If so, what was your favorite theme(s)? If not, what themes might you fantasize about hosting?
I hosted one last year, based on New Adventures titles.

Watch for the upcoming event Three Weeks for Dreamwidth, running April 25-May 15. Folks post content only visible on Dreamwidth, and there are usually memes and other activities too. Mark your calendars!

This year I'm planning to focus on questions and questionnaires as a means of building community. That'll create a few good anchor posts along with the daily question posts.

I have made bingo down the B and O columns of my 4-1-23 card for the Gothic Bingo fest , plus 3 additional fills.

Note that two fills span multiple prompts. One is based on the prompt structure itself using one of the optional squares:
"Something About Her Scent" (Wednesday TV series)
Wednesday Addams
=Snap Twice=
Mummy

The other came from a specific cluster of prompts that someone requested:
"The Happiness of the Bee" (Polychrome Heroics)
The Moors
Ruins
Beekeeping/Bees
Adults are Useless/Dangerous

B1 (Wednesday Addams) -- "Something About Her Scent" (Wednesday TV series)
B2 (=Snap Twice= combine exactly two adjacent prompts) -- "Something About Her Scent" (Wednesday TV series)
B3 (Mummy) -- "Something About Her Scent" (Wednesday TV series)
B4 (Ruins) -- "The Happiness of the Bee" (Polychrome Heroics)
B5 (Workings of the Mind) -- "Sucked Backwards into an Eddy" (Arts and Crafts America)

O1 (Art Studio) -- "The Imagination to Improvise" (Polychrome Heroics: Shiv)
O2 (Bully / Abuser) -- "Mermaids and Sailors (Quixotic Ideas)
O3 (Beekeeping / Bees) -- "The Happiness of the Bee" (Polychrome Heroics)
O4 ("I don't need your help or your pity.") -- "Mrs. Opportunities, Ms. Nomers, and Miss Takes" (standalone)
O5 (Wild Bohemian Girl / Guy) -- "A Great Deal of Energy and Determination" (Polychrome Heroics: Marionettes and Finn Family)

I3 (Damsel / Gentleman in Distress) -- "Before You Can Love Me" (Polychrome Heroics: Iron Horses)
I4 (The Moors) -- "The Happiness of the Bee" (Polychrome Heroics)

N1 (Adults Are Useless / Dangerous) -- -- "The Happiness of the Bee" (Polychrome Heroics)

"The Qui to Everything" (Quixotic Ideas)
Valentines Bingo Card 2-1-23:
Dumortierite - Mental & Psychic Abilities

Worth mentioning is that Quixotic Ideas is a new fantasy series set in an analog of modern Earth called Quorth, where magic is a relatively common part of life.
