Hello everyone! Welcome to the Mixed Quotes Bingo Fest! Posting for the fest runs from May 1 to May 31. This idea was inspired by
ysabetwordsmith, who liked a few fests last year that had the potential to use quotes for the relevant media. So I decided to grab quotes from books, TV shows, movies, and inspirational material for use as prompts. I mostly used top 50s and top 100s lists to find my quotes, so if there are any specific fandoms you want to pull from that I missed, feel free to add your own quotes to my lists. I have made one card for each list and one mixed card, but you are of course free to make your own card if you'd like. Many of the quotes I chose contain commas, which are a nuisance when dealing with the bingo card generator AND also trying to present a list that participants can simply copy and paste into the card generator if they want to make their own card. What I have done to mitigate this is replace any comma within a quote with a tilde (~) instead. If you would like to replace the tildes with commas when you make or choose a card, that is perfectly fine, this was just the best solution I could come up with that wasn't overly complicated or caused other problems.
**The public cards I made commas in them, because I used the html code for commas- , -before realizing that wouldn't work for the lists, at which point I went through and put tildes everywhere instead.
There a few special ways to make a bingo this month, based on the initial letter of the categories. First, a typical letter, I, made by filling all squares in rows 1 and 5, as well as all squares in the "N" column. Second, another typical letter, T, made by filling all the squares in row 1 and all squares in the "N" column. Next, we have the letter V: fill squares B1, B2, B3, I4, N5, G4, O3, O2, and O1. For books there is the letter B: fill all squares in the "B" column, I1, I3, I5, N1, N3, N5, G1, G3, G5, O2, and O4. For movies we have an M: the "B" column, the "O" column, I2, N3, and G2. And fnally, for quotes, the letter Q, which is the one that gave me the hardest time and I'm still not sure if it looks like an actual Q. To make a Q bingo, fill squares B1, B2, B3, B4, I1, I4, N1, N3, N4, G1, G2, G3, G4, and O5.
Making banners isn't in my skill set, but in the wrap-up post at the end of the month, I'll give a special shout out to everyone who made a bingo, as well as trying to give a hi five when the bingo is made, if you choose to claim a bingo mid-fest. I hope everyone enjoys the fest and can get some good inspiration; I know I'm hoping to get a few fills in. Without further ado, lists and cards can be found behind the cut.
