November Theme: Disasters (No Hitting!)

dialecticdreamerIt seems an odd name for a theme in November, which is usually taken up with stories about family togetherness, Thanksgiving, and other fluff. But think honestly about your last big family get together-- did everything go well? Really? I can recount incidents like 'Cooking the Turkey With Giblets Bagged Inside' even to a preschool audience, and that's one of our LEAST chaotic holiday disasters!
So let's take a gently humorous look (or more serious, I'm not setting limits!) at when things go WRONG in the universe. Negative coping skills (like stress eating, or pulling one's hair) often appear in such times, but then again, so do positive ones, and I'll be the firs to admit that I'd love to see MORE examples of positive coping in our culture's entertainment! That's one reason I participate in Allbingo, actually.
