I Am: Ella, also known as Dibs, (and sometimes by my given name too).
I Make: Many things. I spin, knit, and weave (but am currently loomless, so not so much of that at the moment) and process and dye my own fibre; I work with papercrafts and leather, bind books and make traveller's notebooks for my etsy shop; I work with metal and resin and make jewellery and notions; I also do some creative and non-fiction writing, but will mostly be using crafts for the challenges.
I Like: Making many things; tea; reading; gardening; reading in my garden whilst supping tea; writing; crime shows and paranormal shows (the crappier the better); Leverage; Marvel movies; Legends of Tomorrow; Elementary; Lucifer; Old School Trek, SW, and Who; Diana Wynne Jones; Terry Pratchett; Ben Goldacre; Drag Race; Project Runway; Face Off; many more.
I Play: This is my only bingo, as others don't seem to be so craft friendly. Hook me up if you know of any though.
Find Me: Here, ravelry, and etsy.
About Me: I'm awkward af so very bad at these introduction things. I live in the North of England and like to make pretty things. I'm out of work due to my nervous system on my right side just throwing random fits whenever it pleases. I'm generally friendly and need to get out more (but see: nervous system).

Welcome!
Date: 2016-05-12 06:08 pm (UTC)That's awesome. I have known fibercrafters before and they are interesting people.

How exciting!
Okay, I know that I made a list of art prompts for the Bingo Card Generator. I don't think there's a list specifically for handicrafts, though. If you want to make one, then you can submit it to the creator of the BCG and get it added.

That's pesky. Some of my friends with variable disabilities have a set of buttons to indicate current status, like "High pain day: do not touch." You might find "Right side malfunctioning today" a way of reducing the amount of times you have to shoo people away from touching it or trying to make you do things like shake hands or take packages with it. This sort of thing is somewhat effective with strangers, but works quite well with a support network who already know you and your general range of functionality. All your people need to know is where on the nerve map you are today.

Oh, that sucks. Few things are more miserable than an extrovert who needs people but whose body won't go to them. :( Maybe you could get the party to come to you?
I write about characters with disabilities fairly often, if you're into that sort of thing. I have two series with disability as a focus: P.I.E. and The Moon Door. I also have some scattered throughout other series, and I even have a match for "extrovert with acquired disability that limits her going out." Syncope has balance issues related to her superpower, so it's not as easy as it used to be for her to go places and do things. One of her coping methods was to move in to a house with several other disabled soups, although I have not yet gotten around to the rockin' two-level parties they throw: extroverts on the lower floor, introverts and people needing a break on the upper floor. Without that support network, Syncope would be freaking out a lot more. I got some of the ideas for her from friends who have variable mobility.
Re: Welcome!
Date: 2016-05-13 09:23 am (UTC)I can have a go at it; I suppose if things weren't too specific then they could work as writing prompts too, so it could have wider appeal. Things like "Ply Beaded Bouclé", while a challenge to a spinner, might be a bit specialist, lol, but "knitting" is fairly broad and can be used as more than the hobby (knitting bones, knitting together strands of reality, etc.)
I had a look at those two bingos, and I think I might sign up for genprompts, if they're craft friendly (I've had bad writer's block, so throwing my energy into crafts is my thing at the moment and adding writing pressure would be double-plus ungood). Thank you for the suggestions!

I'm mostly okay with touch, except for a couple of small trigger points, it's mostly an issue with it telling me bad things are happening when they're not: no, brain, my hip is not actually on fire right now; yes, I'm sure about that, I can see that you're lying to me. I'm not being stabbed in the eye either so you can knock that right off. Fine, screw you, I'll take the sleepy-pills; that'll bloody shut you up. It runs in the family. :/
an extrovert who needs people but whose body won't go to them.
I'm actually mostly an introvert, which is a blessing, but I still feel like I'd like to socialise maybe once a quarter. However, since I made this post I organised going to see some sheep next week! (I'll start small so as not to startle my social side; it's like a shy, woodland creature). I'm picking out whose fleece I want come shearing time - the answer's probably "all of them", to be honest.
Thanks for the recs. :D
Yes...
Date: 2016-05-13 05:03 pm (UTC)Good idea. I did a poetry fishbowl on "yarn, thread, and string" where those could be literal or allegorical. It was a lot of fun.

I think they are. You can always ask the moderators, though.

Yeah, most introverts want occasional interaction, just not as much as extroverts.

Woohoo!

Hee! It's good to plan ahead, though. And sheep are cute to watch. Do you like white wool for dyeing, or naturally tinted wool? I enjoy looking at the sheep when I go to a fair.

*bow, flourish* Happy to be of service.

Date: 2016-05-15 11:01 am (UTC)The ravelry link bounced me to a log-in page (only members can see any content?) but the etsy link worked. Out of my price range but those notebooks are so pretty :D
Then it's just a question of if the prompts inspire you :)
I'm also in the UK (Midlands), love Leverage and Pratchett and have "Legends of Tomorrow" on my watch list once this season of Arrow and Flash have finished, I can't keep up with ALL the DC at once, I have a *lot* of fandoms and many ongoing shows :)

Date: 2016-05-15 04:03 pm (UTC)That's annoying about the Ravelry link; I think I've opened up the projects now, but the profile stays locked. Most of it's in my dreamwidth anyway though. And thank you: the notebooks actually started out with me wanting one, seeing the £40 range of them and going 'Ow Much?!! (You can take the lass out of Yorkshire...) and then making myself one out of an old suitcase, but then it spiralled into a shop.
I'll check out tropebingo, thanks!
I'm not really up-to-date with Legends of Tomorrow, but it fills my 'cheesy-goodness' needs, and Wentworth Miller is a delight in it. He'd mostly flown under my radar before, but he hams it up like nobody's business in LoT and it's glorious
