Hello, hello! New person here excited to find this community. :D
I Am: Kit or MxKit, they/them pronouns!
I Make: Fanfiction, mostly! I'm primarily a writer and I don't write much original fiction outside of NaNoWriMo; I want to get back into writing fanfiction more regularly so I'm hoping this community can help me do that. Other than fanfiction, I occasionally make icons, gifs, fanvids, and fanmixes.
I Like: Oh, way too much stuff. Right now my biggest fandoms are the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon from 2008, the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon from 2002, and the Highlander: The Animated Series cartoon from 1994, but in the past I've also written for various Transformers series (mostly Prime, Bayverse, and Rescue Bots Academy), Gravity Falls, both Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and that bad Kindred: The Embraced TV show that only got eight episodes, and Disney's Hercules. I am also hugely into She-Ra 2018, various DC things (mostly Batman-related properties, and mostly Scarecrow/Riddler when it comes to that, but not solely), a few Spider-Man comics, and the occasional other thing, usually fairly obscure.
I Play: I admit, I've hesitantly snagged a few bingo cards in the past from one or two communities and then chickened out. I'm not sure why. It's been a few years, though, and I love the look and laid-back, friendly feel of this place, so I want to make it my first successful bingo community! I have posted to a few other communities before; I'm a member of
fandomweekly though I haven't participated in a bit, and I was active at waywardmixes.livejournal.com back when that was a thing.
Find Me: Posting to this journal is rare, honestly, and is mostly notes for me and the occasional fic I'm not totally sold on posting to AO3. Other than that, well, I can be found on AO3 as MadScientific and on Discord as MxKit#0566. Oh, and I'll occasionally post to YouTube as well, but not usually. I'm not really active in fandom otherwise.
About Me: Other than the above... I'm over 30 years old but don't feel comfortable being more specific than that. I love roleplaying (both tabletop and over text), singing, and music in general; I have four pet cats and LOVE animals; I have... a fashion sense (bright colors, hats, sunglasses, spoopy Halloween imagery). As for my fic, I tend towards focusing on the villains in a lot of stuff, though I usually tend to like at least some of the heroes as well. I like villain redemption as well as interpretations of villains as not that bad or even in the right, and I also like when some heroes and villains change their approach and take a third option/start a third faction. I also have a ton of trans headcanons and prefer to just casually write characters as being trans without it really having too much impact on the story most of the time; a lot of my fic just uses different pronouns than in canon super casually for a lot of characters because I like it. (I will clearly and thoroughly label any smut with trans characters.)
I look forward to writing and participating in this community, and I'm excited to be coming in for the Cotton Candy Fest! /o/

Date: 2021-07-21 07:48 pm (UTC)This community is good for that. If you want to start small, the Bingo Card Generator has options for 2x2, 3x3, and 4x4 cards. There's also a Diamonds & Dynamite achievement for small fills.
>> Other than fanfiction, I occasionally make icons, gifs, fanvids, and fanmixes. <<
Most challenges are open to all media of fills. Mostly we get fiction, but I usually do poetry, and we've had folks fill with art or fibercraft.
>> I admit, I've hesitantly snagged a few bingo cards in the past from one or two communities and then chickened out. I'm not sure why. <<
Some communities are high-pressure, have tight deadlines, use restrictive parameters, etc. that make it harder to fill a card. I do crowdfunding, so it's entirely possible for me to black out a card but not have a single line posted, which is really frustrating in a conventional bingo community. So I made this one low-pressure, high-inspiration instead.
>> I like villain redemption as well as interpretations of villains as not that bad or even in the right, and I also like when some heroes and villains change their approach and take a third option/start a third faction.<<
Me too. You might like my original series Polychrome Heroics, which has a LOT of that. Some characters, like Dr. Infanta, it really depends who you ask whether they're supervillains or superheroes.
>> I also have a ton of trans headcanons and prefer to just casually write characters as being trans without it really having too much impact on the story most of the time; <<
That's called "background parity" and is a later stage of identity literature.
You might enjoy my series Schrodinger's Hulk, which posits that because Hulk is a hypermasculine animus, Bruce must actually be a woman. (A man would have an anima instead, an indwelling female spirit.)
>> a lot of my fic just uses different pronouns than in canon super casually for a lot of characters because I like it. (I will clearly and thoroughly label any smut with trans characters.) <<
I am a fan of diverse pronouns in literature, and have used quite a variety of them.
Here is a list of my QUILTBAG characters. Some of my series have trans protagonists, like Frankenstein's Family.

Yay!
