allbingoThis community calendar provides a place to organize events in allbingo. Ideally, there will be periodic fests and challenges on different themes, organized by different people. If you would like to run an event here, please speak up!

Bingo Valentines Feb. 1-21 run byysabetwordsmith
This bingo fest focuses on love and relationships, both romantic and platonic.

Spring and Autumn Fanworks Fest April 1-30 run byelizabeth_rice
This bingo fest celebrates the seasons of Spring (Northern hemisphere) and Autumn (Southern hemisphere) by encouraging creation of other fanworks like poetry, podfics (especially of poems), art, meta, vids, etc.

Solo Celebration Bingo May 1-31 run byvexed_wench
In celebration of National Masturbation Month, this bingo fest promotes healthy enjoyment of one's own body with erotic works. The public card will be asexual/aromantic friendly with prompts for solo rather than partner activities.

Deja Vu Bingo June 1-30 run byysabetwordsmith
Unlike other bingo fests, this one focuses on things you have already created. The public card will feature prompts from assorted categories.

Christmas in July from July 1-31 run byvexed_wench
Celebrate all the December holidays when we have time to do them.

Birthday Bingo from August 1-31 run bydialecticdreamer
This "happy birthday" fest comes complete with its own prompt list and a new bingo type. See a public card and the parameters.
UPDATE: Prizes are still being offered for bingos in this fest through September.

Choose fanworks from a collection of remix-friendly sources, and create a remix with a horror/supernatural theme.

The goal is to use scientific discoveries or news to inspire creative work. There will be a public card with prompts linking to online articles or other inspiration.

Organizing an Event
This community is a low-traffic, low-pressure opportunity to organize an activity. Anyone can volunteer to host something. Two or more people can cohost the same event; this is a good idea if you want to participate but your availability varies. The requirements are pretty simple:
1) Pick a theme and a timespan. Ideally, aim for a month that doesn't already have an activity, but time-sensitive events may be allowed closer together as needed. If you're not sure of people's interest, you could post a query first and ask, especially if you have several possible themes or times in mind. Declare your interest so that your event can be added to the schedule.
2) Make a post detailing the parameters of the event. This needs to include at least the beginning and end dates, along with the theme. It helps to mention any unusual bingo patterns, communities, or prompt lists that would suit the event. You may want to generate and include a "public" card that anyone can use. You can use < textarea > before the card code and < / textarea > (remove the spaces) after the card code to create a box of code that people can copy to put the public card on their own blog. The same code box can be used to offer a list of thematic prompts for anyone wishing to make their own card from similar motifs.
3) Keep an eye on the activity. Ideally, answer questions about the event, encourage people to participate, cheer for the ones who post a bingo, etc. If an argument breaks out, remind people to play nice. You might want to do a little promotion in other relevant venues, but it's not required.

Do you mean where people can sign up as teams?
Anyway, I've got the list of people who give blanket permission for creation of podfics and repodding and a list of those who say blanket no to podfics and other transformative works. BTW, do you have a transformative works policy?
I'll look up other poets on AO3 and link to their policies if they have one. I'll have this ready in at least one week.
I'll have the rule post and public card ready in a day or two. Thanks so much!

Also I'd like to request you to make one, especially since you also write original works (fiction and non-fiction). You could also get a creative commons license for your original works. There are many options: "blanket yes", "permission with caveats", "ask first", or "blanket no". No explanation is required.
If you'd like an example, my policy gives permission with caveats: WIPs are off-limits till I finish them and no to translations.

I don't have a policy, because I don't have a stance, because the issue is complex and key components point in different directions. I don't want to formalize something that is indeterminate and incomplete. If I ever build up enough data to resolve a reliable pattern, or if I find a policy that I like well enough to replicate, then I'll do so at that time. Otherwise I prefer not to make an official declaration.
I am more inclined to make a ruling on specific works. Frex, Schrodinger's Heroes is an open-source fandom. There have also been times when I've teamed up with someone else, either using something I've already created or making something new for a joint project. Narrowing the scope makes it much easier to decide how to handle it.

Eh, a little, but people do that with things they really care about. You didn't do it in a mean way, and I'm capable of replying politely.
I would like to go fishing for a podcast partner, if you decide to put up a networking post. I've got plenty of poetry that could be recorded, a few scripts, or I could write something new.

It looks great. I think you did a good job drawing inspiration from other activities and parameters to create something clear and interesting. I have printed out the public card. I also boosted the signal.
Thanks again for organizing this. A community has a much better chance of success with multiple people offering activities.

In an event that encourages collaboration, a networking post typically includes a link to the event guidelines, a summary of the kinds of collaboration encouraged, and an invitation for people to comment with their interests. Frex:
"The Spring and Autumn Bingo Fest encourages collaboration. You can play solo, as a team, mix and match, whatever works for you. Some popular examples of collaboration include a writer and a narrator for podcasting, or a writer and an artist for a comic strip. Team up however you like. If you are interested in collaboration but don't already have a partner, leave a comment below this post describing what you do and what kind of partner you'd like to find."
