Deja Vu Bingo

This is an advance announcement for the Deja Vu Bingo fest.  It will run from June 1-30, 2014.  

Other bingo fests focus on creating new things.  This one is about sharing things you have already created.  There are no content or length requirements.  It just has to be your original work, made prior to June 1.  This is a fun way to introduce new readers to some of your older projects.

FAQ List

Q: "Can it be a mix of previously posted and as-yet-unpublished (but already completed) work?"

A: Yes. The original idea was to promote older works that people might have missed, but if folks want to use this to get their stuff out of a drawer and into circulation, that's fine too. It just has to be created prior to June 1, 2014.


Q: "Could we use this card for reccing other people's work instead? Maybe 5 or 10 recs per square?"

A: Yes. Figure a minimum of 5 recommendations to fill a square. Any kind of fanwork is acceptable, so long as it matches the prompt and was created prior to June 1, 2014.

Replace the * with < and what is in between shows in the text box. That is how i put the code on my moth's page.

Does that keep the text from lapping over or under the sidebars? Does it work with things that aren't pure text, like tables?

It is great for codes tables and bingo.
On this post under the card it says code for this card. It is how I got the card 's code to show so people could paste it into their own journal.

It just has to be created prior to June 1. The original idea was to introduce folks to things of yours they might have missed earlier, but if people want to use this as an opportunity to post their dusty-drawer stuff, that's fine too. Or if you need a little wiggle room to make bingo.

Go for it. I have no problem with doing a rec project another month if somebody wants to run one. Meanwhile we can test the waters with this.

I missed this - I missed June almost completely due to computer issues and a few rl problems. It was a great idea and I hope you run another round later in the year/early next year.

You can still use the card. This is a high-inspiration, low-pressure community. The fests are really just to give people a target.

In fact, we have several months left this year that don't have events scheduled for them. You could host a Deja Vu round yourself. December is open, and that would make an ideal time -- it's six months offset from the June round, and it's a time of year when people may be too busy to write new stuff.
