While researching "Played by Two Guys Who Can Barely Run Their Own Lives" to fill the "Risk" square on my card, I found a timeline of significant tabletop games introduced in the 1900s. I thought other folks might find that useful for this challenge.

Lots of folks want to see more activity on Dreamwidth. While researching community activities, I came across the idea of thematic meet and greet events. That seemed like something which might work here, given a membership of several hundred people and a new theme each month. So I made one for this month's theme. It gives people a place to meet folks with similar interests, and to squee about the current theme.

Here is the basic outline. Fill in as much or as little of it as you wish, depending on your interests as they relate to the Games and Entertainment Bingo Fest.

The Games and Entertainment Bingo Fest will run from July 1-31. The theme spans all sorts of playful activities. To diversify options, I've done several things...

1) Prompts are divided into several groups. These are Classic Board Games, Contemporary Board Games, Roleplaying Games, Board Game Mechanics, Video Games, Yard Games, Skill Toys, and Game Quotes. Feel free to add to these if your favorites aren't listed.

Also on the Bingo Card Generator:
Childhood Experiences
Gentle Fiction (no sex, violence, or foul language)

Relevant communities:

2) A 3x3 card is offered in each current category, in hopes of making it easier to blackout. A 5x5 card mixes everything together for variety.

Feel free to mix and match the prompts, though, if you want a more diverse card. You can make a standard 5x5 or whatever you want. Creative interpretation is encouraged, and you don't have to stick to a category just because you're using its prompts. You can write about games, or just use the titles for wacky inspiration.

3) Challenges! These are prompts that make the bingo card more exciting. You can add them to any category, or skip them, as you choose. They do let you claim multiple fills from one work.

=4D Chess= Use all adjacent prompts, one per scene or chapter, sequentially in the same fill.

=Extra Pinball= Choose one square adjacent to this one, plus one anywhere NOT adjacent.

=Overtime= Double the length of the fill for an adjacent prompt.

=Pong= Combine two prompts from opposite sides of the card, with this square between them.

=Rules Lawyer= Use the EXACT game motif from the prompt in an adjacent square.

4) In addition to the standard bingo patterns of line, blackout, etc. there are others especially suited to this theme:
Baseball patterns
Field Goal
Football patterns
Golf patterns
Letter E
Letter G
Lucky 7
Picnic Table (gaming table)
