Amnesty and Winter Fest

I'm your host for December. We have two events going on. The first is Amnesty. So if you have any outstanding bingo cards from any bingo event this is the time to play catch-up.

The second event is WInter Fest. I thought it might be fun to branch out a little this month. So the challenge is to make a bingo in the shape of a tree. I know a lot of people don't celebrate Christmas so this doesn't have to be a Christmas tree if you don't want it to be. To make a tree,it takes 11 fills on a 5x5 bingo card. Here's the link to a pattern page.

I'm apparently not good at bingo :) The fills I've done or planned for my amnesty are all over the place.

Don't worry about it. Mine frequently scatter too. I've had cards more than half filled with no bingo. At the end of a fest, I just list whatever I wrote for it. If I have a bingo then it goes at the top, with "extra fills" below that.

Also, I think amnesty bingos are for any 5 fills from older cards. At least that's how I tend to play it.

I'm just surprised that I'm caught-up on bingo cards this year, considering how behind I am on practically everything else.

I made a card. If the stars align and my NaNo magically edits itself, I will go find the fills I made and never posted for other cards.

Good luck to you. I can't even imagine doing NaNo. You are brave. I just broke the 40,000 word mark for the year last month. I'm amazed that writers can do that.

I did it with friends once, which was great. I could do it by myself, but only if I dropped everything else for a month, which is unfeasible. But if someone wants to take a sabbatical to write, that's an excellent approach.

I've been doing NaNo every year since 2004. I love it. I have never bothered to edit before, though. That part is very daunting. Thank you for the luck!

I actually like to edit. I'm a little freakish like that.I like research as well. I used to beta for a couple of people back in the day, but I don't anymore since it takes away from my writing and other things.

I enjoy editing too. Sometimes I do it as a hobby, but I'm still available for hire. I am delighted by the rise of hobby-editing as "beta readers" nowadays.

I haven't done it enough to know if I like it yet. It's difficult, so far, to stay detached enough to evaluate the presentation of the story without getting sucked in and writing more story. So far it's been fun, minus distractions.

Ahah! I totally should have asked for a beta reader before trying this.

I understand. I still can't believe the month is almost halfway through. It's always too much to do too little time in my life. I wish you luck on catching up on some of your bingo cards. You can always do 4 corners or something that's not a whole line.

At this point I’ll feel like I’ve won even it’s fills from all different boards. 5 story snippets for me in one month is A LOT.
