August Intimacy Wrap-Up

allbingoSo it looks like a couple people went to town on the August Intimacy prompts: ysabetwordsmith made two BINGOs plus four other fills, and curiosity managed a full blackout (in connection with a blackout for the other event running concurrently, which... wowzers!). Congratulations, you two!
Over on AO3, I updated A Stray Parrot in Queens (MCU: Loki & Peter Parker) and posted Preserving Memories (Slayers: Xellos & Lina Inverse). Also posted a couple pieces unrelated to the event (including my Birthday Prompt: a character travels back in time to give a cryptic warning to themself ), but otherwise found it very difficult to concentrate (as expected), and didn't even make headway on Turtles in a Bottle, my major August Intimacy piece from last year (let alone several smaller FMI fics I'd been hoping to update). But progress is progress, so I shall try not to feel too bad.
If anyone else posted a piece on AO3 related to this event, I didn't notice it. (If anyone knows of any, please point it out!) But because I only managed one independent piece, and have no other pieces to connect it to from other authors, I won't be making an AO3 collection unless September sees that significantly change.
Regardless, that's a lot of writing accomplished for a low-energy event, and thank you for participating! I hope to host this again next year, as well as the Genderplay event again during April.
As of now, I'm switching focus to work on Creepyfest updates, though possibly I'll manage some of these elusive FMI updates during September sometime.
While they're not FMI fics, two of the fics I hope to complete during this year's Creepyfest do focus on nonsexual, nonromantic intimacy. One is the highly angsty Before the Norns, which showcases a close brotherhood between Thor and Loki, and a really dark Odin forcing a Sadistic Choice for Thor's coronation. The other is Nippitaty, a Person of Interest fic with a vampire Elias, and focuses on the physical intimacy of the feedings as well as some, well, mystical intimacy created by the bond. They both have one chapter to go and I have a good idea where I want to take them.
Lastly, for anyone who was interested in August Intimacy but didn't have the time/energy during August, well, seems like it'd mesh well with September's Platonic Love Fest! I love it when other events focus on the various forms of intimacy that aren't tied to sex or romance.

You might consider making a broader AO3 collection for Five Moments of Intimacy or Nonsexual Intimacies so you can gather things even if a given event only generates a few new fanfics. That would make it easier for people to find things, and thus encourage more folks to write about nonsexual intimacies.
