The Leaky Pipeline Bingo Fest runs May 1-31. All sizes and media, fandoms and original works are welcome.
The "leaky pipeline" is a metaphor for people leaving. Most often it is used in relation to women or black people in STEMZ, but it can refer to other disadvantaged groups or different projects. STEMZ stands for Science Technology Engineering Mathematics Zetetics, including both practical and academic branches -- fields where people often get pushed out. The pipeline leaks because people often have miserable experiences in these fields and prefer leaving to remaining miserable. If your fandom or original setting has groups (e.g. mutants) or fields (e.g. warp technology) with similar problems that are not listed, feel free to add them! There are ways to address the problems, and storytelling is one of them, so let's stick some corks in it. \o/
This bingo fest offers prompts clustered into several categories: People, STEMZ Majors / Fields / Careers, Risk Factors, and Resilience Factors. Each has at least 24 prompts so you can make your own 5x5 cards (or other sizes) if you wish. There are public cards for each one, plus a combination card. If you make multiple cards, you also have the option of combining a People prompt with a STEMZ prompt and a Risk or Resilience prompt to generate a scenario by matching, say, the B1 square on each card.
