This is the August community post for allbingo . What were your bingo activities during July? What are your plans for August?

For July we had:
Winterfest in July by vexed_wench and spiralicious
Come celebrate your favorite winter holidays ... in summer!
Posting is July 1-31.

For August we will have:
5 Moments of Intimacy Fest by  zaniida  
The format will be 5 Moments of Intimacy. This form has a nonsexual focus. The host hopes to spread the form across more fandoms.
Posting will be August 1-31.

I wrote 6 out of my 9 prompts so far for Winterfest in July. I would like to finish. I really enjoyed what I'd done so far. I have that request out to the hosts. I had a close family death in July and just couldn't get back in the mind set to write. I'm hoping that that will change in August.

I'm sort of unclear on August's fest. Once I get that clear in my mind, I plan to write for that as well.

Alas! The community standard is that you can play any card at any time; individual fests are up to their hosts.

Five Moments of Intimacy is a new and exiting idea. zaniida has made a whole bunch of cards. Each card has prompts arranged so that the 5 prompts in a column all have the same theme (e.g. emotional intimacy). The idea is to write 5 prompts in the same fill -- or 5 fills that fit together, like character icons in a series -- 1 prompt from each theme. There are several ways to make bingo:
* Take a complete row of prompts, like Row 1, and put them all in the same fill.
* Choose 1 prompt from anywhere in each column, and put them all in the same fill.
* Combine all the prompts in a column to make a fill on that specific theme.
* Or if you want, you can just play the prompts like a regular bingo. It won't come out as FMI but it will still be about nonsexual intimacy.

I'm really intrigued by this new form, because new forms of fiction don't come out very often, and it generalizes well to poetry, art, and other media too. :D

I'm hoping the hosts get back to me. I've really enjoyed that fic I started in July for Winterfest.

I'm glad someone did cards for August. For some reason I just can't wrap my mind around the format. Life is overwhelming recently. Hopefully that won't last forever.

Did Vexed ever get back you about Winterfest in July? We understand. Both Vexed and I have had people close to us pass away in the last few years. I know she arranged for you to have a banner ready for you to claim whenever you feel up to finishing your bingo.

I see that ysabetwordsmith hooked you up with some resources and advice. You are probably tired of hearing this, but how are you holding up?

Thank you so much. I'm holding up. It's just been rough the last several weeks. First I had to put the family dog to sleep and then my family member died. I'm not tired of hearing it. I appreciate the kindness.

Also, thank you for going with the community standard. I had a creative burst of energy yesterday and finished the July bingo as well as the August one. I have no idea where it came from, but I'll take it. Now if only I can get a leave the house burst of energy. There are so many things that I need to do and just don't want to. Hopefully that will change by the times things start opening. It's only like 4 or 5 things. It's not like it will take more than a couple of hours.
