November Monthly Post

This is the November community post for allbingo. What were your bingo activities during October? What are your plans for November?

For October we had:
Fall / Halloween / Samhain Fest hosted by vexed_wench and spiralicious
This fest covers all the autumn holidays.
Posting will be October 1-31.

For November we will have:
People-Watching Fest by yntoila
These prompts will focus on different traits and types of people.
Posting will be November 1-30.


We do not yet have any fests scheduled for 2020. I usually cover Valentines in February. Does someone else want to take January?

Technical question

I've set up my card for the November bingo theme.

However, if I write something today (Halloweird), does that count? Should I spend the afternoon with other kinds of writing to be safe?

Fest hosts set the fest rules. The community rule is that you can start filling prompts whenever someone posts the prompt lists for a fest, but posting claims that you filled prompts only opens on the start date (usually the first of the month). That's why some hosts post their prompt lists early, to give people a head start.

November fest host here. I just want to endorse what ysabetwordsmith said. :) If you created any fills in advance, that's awesome. If you didn't, no problem at all. Posting starts today and your fills/bingos will be very welcome. :D

I'd like to provisionally take January. The only reason why I'm saying "provisionally" is the fact that right now I don't have a theme in mind. So, if someone else shows up offering to host a January fest with an already well-defined theme, feel free to take their offer. Otherwise, I'll be coming back in a few days to confirm my January claim and let you know about the fest's theme. :)

Meanwhile, I suggest browsing the lists in the Bingo Card Maker for inspiration. You could also host a fest on any topic you think doesn't get written enough, or well enough.

I have an idea, but I want to check with you to see if it's something acceptable for the comm. I'd like to run a Less Usual Bingo Patterns Fest, which would welcome all bingo patterns *except* for single lines and blackouts. Would that be okay? If you don't approve this idea, no problem, I'll come up with something else. :)

*laugh* Sure, why not? The resources have links to all kinds of unusual patterns.

In fact, the idea was partially inspired by the resources, and I'll make sure to promote them when the time comes. So, that's it: I'll be hosting the Less Usual Bingo Patterns Fest in January 2019. Thank you for letting me do this! <3
