Yeah, it's pretty popular (even if the kind I write isn't that popular). I agree, every prompt I have fit both original and fandom works (the same goes for my whump prompts).
I have some. I tried to host a kinktober and a A/B/O week on my Tumblr. It failed spectacularly. Not sure how much because the blog is small, or the promots were bad, or I'm just bad at promoting it. So having prompts isn't an issue.
Yeah, yeah, I think making a fest only for original work would be unrealistic. I'll ask.
I'll think about it. Maybe I'll aim for August if I get the courage to actually try hosting something.

What kind do you write?

Whump is also enormously popular and would make a great topic. We have hurt/comfort prompt lists but you could also write new prompts.

Bummer. If you're concerned about prompt quality, you could ask experienced hosts to look at your list.
>>Yeah, yeah, I think making a fest only for original work would be unrealistic. I'll ask.<<
You can also mention in any fest that original work is encouraged and/or create a challenge for it.

Think it over. I hope you decide to host eventually. It's a lot of fun, and we have a lively crowd here -- there are multiple folks who play almost every month, or at least try to.
Femslash, original work of course. Also male characters tend to be quite secondary and I'm not a fan of certain popular tropes, which doesn't help at all. It's impressive anyone reads at all.
Yes, I'm always happy to see how popular it is – even if my kind, original work + female/lady whump isn't popular. I liked the lists I've seen, even if I always have to edit my own (especially because I also enjoy the NSFW flavor of whump, paired with A/B/O... I'm a niche).
Yeah, I did in 2021 and decided to not try again. I might ask. I have a list with 70 prompts and a bunch of pre-made bingo cards waiting to be used.
I can try that.
I will, I will. I might go for a small event, a small card without too many rules. Something that fits my slow writer profile.
Hey, even if I don't really host an event, can I share cards? Make them public for people to use them without a deadline or anything. Just stuff there that can be used for inspiration without pressure. It's completely fine if not!

Niche is variety. You've probably seen some of the far-out stuff I write too.

You certainly can!
Actually, that's a great idea to use in Three Weeks for Dreamwidth. Would you be okay if I made a post inviting people to share favorite cards?
I guess it is, it's also quite self-indulgent. I'll check the list out, thank you! I only know the femslash kink meme, even if I'll never participate in the actual exchange part.
I guess it is. Yup, I did.
Is it? I'm extra, so it doesn't seem like a lot to me.
Thanks.
Alright.
I'll have to look what is Three Weeks for Dreamwidth (I'm trying to be more active, but that's a recent goal that I don't know for how long I'll keep up with). And yeah, surely, I'd love to see people sharing their favorite cards.
>> (I'm trying to be more active, but that's a recent goal that I don't know for how long I'll keep up with).<<
Consider recurring posts. They make it quicker and easier. You can pick any topic you like. If you're not sure you want to maintain higher activity long-term, you might choose a short questionnaire and do one question per day, or week.
Alternatively, look for events. Three Weeks for Dreamwidth runs in spring. sunshine_challenge runs in July. snowflake_challenge runs in January. Many people are only active during their favorite event(s), and that's fine. Gods know I couldn't keep up this pace all the time; I just boost my activity for events and then drop back to my usual.

Here's a list of femslash communities, some of which specifically list original work as welcome.

I'm happy I could help.

It only takes 25 prompts to fill a standard 5x5 card without repeats, if you don't put a wild card in the center (in which case, 24).
>> I'll have to look what is Three Weeks for Dreamwidth<<
I have posted an explanation of Three Weeks for Dreamwidth here, and I'm linking to people doing activities.

Here is the call for cards.
Re: Yay!
Date: 2023-04-26 10:54 pm (UTC)I mean, my smut prompt combos list is gigantic, so other lists can look small.
I'll check it out.
I'll see what I can do. I wanna be more active for the sake of being more active.
