Food Fest Meet and Greet

Lots of folks want to see more activity on Dreamwidth. Thematic meet and greet events offer a good opportunity for that. So I made one for this month's Food Fest theme. It gives people a place to meet folks with similar interests, and to squee about the current theme.
Here is the basic outline. Fill in as much or as little of it as you wish, depending on your interests as they relate to the Food Fest.
Name: Whatever you wish to be known by.
Sex/Gender Identity: Share any descriptions you wish people to know about you, including pronouns.
Home Turf: Your country, state/province, ecoregion, or whatever else you wish to share.
Find Me At: Your other blogs, services, or venues.
My Favorite Restaurants: Local, chain, ethnic, whatever.
My Favorite Cuisines: To make, to eat out, or just to read about.
My Favorite Foods: Ingredients, dishes, recipes, etc.
Things I Can't or Won't Eat: Allergies, aversions, exasperations with the modern foodstream, etc.
Fun Food Quotes: Humorous sayings, advice or guidelines you like, etc.
Cookbooks I Recommend: Old or new, in any format.
Cooking or Food Shows I Recommend: Television, online, movies, etc.
Cooks I Admire: family legends, local or wider celebrities, authors, etc.
Online Food Resources I Recommend: Recipe archives, cookbook lists, places to buy exotic ingredients, etc.
Favorite Food Blogs or Communities: Anything on Dreamwidth, or other venues, relating to the above topics.
About My Blog: A general description of your blog metaphor, what your blog contains, common formats / media, activity level, typical rating level, featured fandom(s) or original work, etc.
What I Create: Anything you make that relates to the Food Fest theme or above topics; fandoms, formats, recurring motifs, and so forth. Do you write and share your own recipes, garden and post photos, link recipes that you described in your fiction, or what? Do you use recipes, measurements, and/or intuition?
What I'm Looking For: Things you would like to get from this activity; readers, comments, recommendations of fandoms or fanworks, new friends, cooking conversation pals, wider representation of something, etc.

My Favorite Restaurants: Core Life Eatery, Cracker Barrel, Five Guys, Meatheads, Naf Naf (which we call Snarf Snarf because that is what happens), Panda Express ("You did it again, didn't you? You meant to try something else, and you got the Orange Chicken."), Red Lobster.
My Favorite Cuisines: East Indian, Native American (assorted tribes), Chinese (we have a wok!), Middle Eastern, Italian, Greek, African (various countries but mostly northern or western), Soul Food, Hippie Food.
My Favorite Foods: Almost any fruit, but especially strawberries, mulberries, mangoes, goldenberries, mangosteen, dragonfruit, and jackfruit. I love the old corns, like Southern Gentleman white sweet corn or Hopi blue cornmeal anything. Carnival squash. Unusual honey types; basswood is very delicate, sage or buckwheat is good for cooking. Maple syrup. My latest favorite is Liber & Co Blood Orange Cordial. If you look in my 2022 Goals you can see a list of recipes that I have made this year.
Things I Can't or Won't Eat: I don't eat veal or cetacean for ethical reasons. I am allergic to enough artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, etc. that I generally try to minimize eating those categories. I avoid high-fructose corn syrup and frankenfoods as much as possible.

About My Blog: I post almost every day, often several times a day. If you're looking for an active blog, this is a good bet; if you're easily overwhelmed, not so much. I post a lot about writing, some nature and current events, especially science news. I share my gardening and birdfeeding experiences, with photos in the warmer months. I'm an active supporter of crowdfunding and often link to other people's projects. See my Food and Recipe tags.
What I Create: I write primarily original work, and some fanfic for fun. I post a lot of poetry, some fiction and nonfiction. My most popular fanfic series is Love Is For Children (The Avengers). Find Me At: Here is really the only space I'm active.
My Favorite Restaurants: I'm not good at picking favourites but Bad Witch Bakery does great cookies, brownies and cheesecakes. Mamo Burger is a good non-chain restaurant for burgers, with some unique options and the ability to build-your-own. There a few good sushi places, although I can't really pick a favourite because I don't have a way to decide which is better. And Jose's Noodle Factory (which might be a chain) is still a good place for general North American food, although I did like them (and their prices) better before they switched from kid friendly family place to "upscale family dining.".
My Favorite Cuisines: Umm... I'll try just about anything. I do tend towards "typical" North American food most often, but I also enjoy Indian, Middle Eastern, and Asian dishes.
My Favorite Foods: Chocolate, strawberries, raspberries, pasta, perogies, Polish muffins, and chili.
Things I Can't or Won't Eat: I'm not allergic to any foods, but I avoid very spicy foods, large quantities of fish, and anything that is bitter, especially on the vegetable side.
Fun Food Quotes: I don't have many of these, but I do like "Eat the rainbow."
Cookbooks I Recommend: The Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook is pretty handy. It has mostly standard recipes, so it's not the most adventurous thing out there, but it does work nicely for novice cooks and still gives a variety of dishes so you aren't stuck making the same thing over and over again.
Cooking or Food Shows I Recommend: I like "Cooks Country" and "America's Test Kitchen."
Cooks I Admire: My maternal grandparents and my paternal grandma, because they were/are all skilled in there own way, and were/are willing to pass along their skills if you ask. It was always good family time and I have some great memories in the kitchen with them (and am lucky to still have my paternal grandma with me for making new memories).
About My Blog: I mostly make weekly posts about life in general, and I have a Comfort Corner post that goes up the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month. I will also occasionally post bingo fills I've made, which are typically freeform or short form poetry, or pictures from my lastest fiber craft project.
What I Create: I cook out of necessity and bake for fun. Most dishes I make are standard north american fair, because my cooking skills aren't very strong yet. I almost always follow a recipe when cooking because I don't have much faith in my free-form skills. Baking tends to be cookies or brownies or other simple things although I am starting to branch out there. I still use a recipe for baking because so many things need to be precise, but I'm more confident on making substitutes or veering off the beaten path for baking.
What I'm Looking For: I like making new friends and I'd love to find some new recipes to try, from any cuisine. I'm happy to talk about food with people, although I don't make very many food related posts on my blog at this time.

My Favorite Restaurants: Local Chinese place (with bonus punny name & excellent delivery), local angus burger place, fried chicken (not chick fil a). Fav chains include tropical smoothie cafe & the catch (fried seafood & chicken)
My Favorite Cuisines:
Soul food, American style Chinese food & Japanese food. Home Baked goods.
My Favorite Foods: chocolate, fruits like Strawberries or blueberries. Japanese style curry is a dish I make all the time. Fried chicken is a favorite as is tx style BBQ. Fav snacks include yogurt & sunflower seeds
Things I Can't or Won't eat: no allergies but household aversions to mushrooms & peas. We try to avoid beef at home & only eat it when we order out. We eat a lot of chicken & turkey & some pork.

Cooking or Food Shows I Recommend: Chef is a fav movie as is Good eats. Chopped is something we watch when it's on the TV in a waiting room but we don't look for it.
Cooks I Admire: Alton brown, Sally of Sally's baking both for methodical methods. My partner J was a chef before his health stopped that career cold so I've learned most of my cooking from him.
Online Food Resources I Recommend: How to cook that on YouTube is lovely & so is Emmymade. Both of them do food experiments & unusual foods/recipes.
King arthur flours recipe archive is useful & has weight measurements for various ingredients
for baking.
Favorite Food Blogs or Communities: Budget bytes & Sally's baking addiction are some fav food blogs. Ysabetwordsmith is a fav of mine but she isn't food focused.
About My Blog: I don't post much but I do read & comment.
What I'm Looking For:
New blogs to follow & new cooking ideas or cookbooks. I just got a fancy new air fryer/pressure cooker/multicooker so I'm looking for things to cook in it.

Sex/Gender Identity: I'm a girl & I answer to the associated pronouns, but I have no problem with anything you come up with for me.
Home Turf: Long Islander here.
Find Me At: Dreamwidth & Live Journal under the name kiramaru7. I also write for a handful of comms. Blue Tiger/Pink Bunny is an archive for a shared universe with my friend Kat, & 2 of our characters, Tino & Didi, are into food, Tino is a good cook (I forget if I have anything where he's cooking), while Didi is a good baker. He's been baking since he was a kid. Didi's older brother Bernd is the ultimate picky-eater who prefers to eat "white food." Think chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, rice, Weisswurst, white chocolate, marshmallows, etc.
My Favorite Restaurants: I don't have one as I rarely eat out. XD That said, I do get a craving every so often for a chicken quesadilla & nacho fries.
My Favorite Cuisines: I like to eat Italian as well as Indian food. I'm willing to try just about anything as long as I can eat what it's made out of
My Favorite Foods: Curry, pasta, fish, shrimp, lobster, & chicken. I also like to indulge in sugar cookies & funfetti cakes. :D
Things I Can't or Won't Eat: I have a lot of food allergies & sensitivities. I also find fatty meat, gristle, and veins in my meat gross. I find prime rib nasty, but I LOVE filet Mignon.
