Try this: watch the first episode of Wednesday. If you get hooked, it's only 8 episodes; you could binge it in a day or spread it out over the next week.
If it doesn't hook you, then you can either decide to watch it later, or skip it and just read the meta. I've had experiences where the meta and fanfic were way better than the canon.
