Winterfest in July Meet and Greet
We, vexed_wench and spiralicious, are part of the folks who would like to see more activity on Dreamwidth. Inspired by ysabetwordsmith's and nsfwords's posts, we made a meet and greet of our own for Winterfest in July! (We also may be borrowed a few questions from them here and there.) It's a fun bingo.
Favorite Winter/Winter Fest Activity:
Winter is a favorite season. I used to enjoy the snow and ice, but we don't get nearly as much anymore. There are more ice storms, though, and I love taking pictures of those. When I was growing up, there were only two. Now it's every other year or so. I do also enjoy cooking and crafting.
Least Favorite Thing About Winter/Winter Holidays:
When other people won't take no for an answer, "I don't like loud crowded parties" becomes "I don't like parties" or "I don't like holidays" or "I don't like people."
Favorite Thing About Winterfest in July:
The contrast between topic and current weather. Writing about snow provides some relief from the heat.

I haven't had a chance to do it recently, but I love making and decorating cookies. I really want to do a batch this year because I have some bitters with woodsy flavors that should go great with rosemary -- I love rosemary pine tree cookies.
About Your Blog:
I post almost every day, often several times a day. If you're looking for an active blog, this is a good bet; if you're easily overwhelmed, not so much. I post a lot about writing, some nature and current events, especially science news. I share my gardening and birdfeeding experiences, with photos in the warmer months. I'm an active supporter of crowdfunding and often link to other people's projects. My blog has folks from all over the QUILTBAG.
What You Are Looking For:
I'm always interested in new friends and readers, or new things to read in favorite topics. I'd enjoy connecting with more artists. Recipes are welcome, especially the less-known winter holiday ones.

This is why I prefer to do most of my shopping early. Some things I always mail-order anyway, like T-shirts for my partner.
Re: Thoughts
Yup! I get a lot of gift cards when I can, so peeps can get exactly what they want & also get it anytime there's a sale! Since the pandemic, I've done most of my shopping on line at amazon & it couldn't be easier. :D If you know their size or can approximate it like with a small/medium/large it's sooo much less stressful than dealing with crowds.
