Hellloooo my fellow ghoulies! And welcome.

October is fast approaching
So lets get those cauldrons bubbling

Don your witches' hats and grab your brooms
Gather all your potions, herbs and mushrooms

Because it will soon be time for the Horror Bingo Fest! Ah-rooooo

~ * ~

Haha, sorry for the lame rhyming, I just really love Halloween and couldn't resist. I think it's the most fun holiday Americans came up with.

Anyway, now for the rules. The Horror Bingo will run throughout the month of October. Now I know the programme says this is supposed to be a remix bingo but I've decided to open the bingo to all forms of transformative works. So you may still make remixes but it's not the only thing you can make. So go ahead and make fanfics, fanart, meta, poems, fan mixes, rec lists, podfics, crafts, or remix to your heart's content!

Special bingo patterns for October: the capital letter 'H' or the small letter 'h'. Which of course stands for Halloween and horror. For an example, see below the public card.

Here is AB's list of achievements.

If you wish to create one or more remixes, here are a few links to find transformative works policies:
1. List of fan creators who give blanket permission.
2. Blanket no to podfic.

Rules for Remixes:
1. Link to fanworks you're remixing and credit the original fan-creator.
2. Don't make it personal. A good parody celebrates the original and doesn't tear it down.
3. Your remix can be comedic or dramatic.
4. I know crack is a sensitive issue, so ask for permission to make a crack remix if it's not specified in the transformative works policy of the fan-creator.
5. Want to change pairing? Gender of characters? If it's not specified, talk to fanwork creator and get permission.

You may volunteer your own fanworks for other participants to use or you may check the list of fan-creators who give blanket permissions to have their fanworks remixed.

I allow remixes based on my fanwork (as long as your goal isn't to humiliate me!). Also check my transformative works policy for the exception list first. But it's not necessary to ask for permission beforehand.

From my last bingo event, here's lilly_c's transformative works policy.

And here is the public card I made (you can make your own or use another Halloween or Horror-themed cards):

Unknowingly Moving into a Haunted House Ghostly Chill Frankenstien Poe Most Haunted Castles / Hotels
Séance Gore Yuurei / Spirits Warlocks / Wizards / Witches Werewolves
Ghost Photography Friendly / Misunderstood Ghosts and Monsters Wild Card Urban Legends Zombies
Ghost / Monster Hunters Mummies Possession Psychological Horror Onryou / Vengeful Spirits
Campfire Ghost Stories Vampires Unexplained Noises Extra-Sensory Perception Maze

Examples:
For a bingo using the capital letter 'H': you may use the prompts Ghostly Chill, Gore, Friendly/Misunderstood Ghosts and Monsters, Mummies, Vampires, Wild Card, Poe, Warlocks/Wizards/Witches, Urban Legends, Psychological Horror, Extra-Sensory Perception (11 prompts and fills).
You may also make a bingo using a smaller version (7 prompts and fills), example by removing Ghostly Chill, Poe, Vampires and ESP.

For a bingo using the small letter 'h': you may use the prompts Ghostly Chill, Gore, Friendly/Misunderstood Ghosts and Monsters, Mummies, Vampires, Wild Card, Urban Legends, Psychological Horror, Extra-Sensory Perception (9 prompts and fills).
You may also make a bingo using a smaller version (6 prompts and fills), example by removing Ghostly Chill, Vampires and ESP.

Edit: Here are two more Halloween-themed bingo cards from [community profile] fanbingo. [personal profile] gigglingkat has given me permission to use them for this fest.

Any suggestions/corrections, please feel free to comment!

I'm genuinely lost. How is this different than a fan fiction of say, "The Tell-Tale Heart" from the viewpoint of one of the officers called to the scene?

So, I was on the right track, just not inclusive enough. GRIN. The wheels, they are turning!
