Winter Fest in July
Welcome to Winter Fest in July. I will be you guest host for the month.
I love all things winter and Christmas. I realize that not everyone has fandoms or original universes that support that. I tried to come up with a few lists that could fit into almost any verse.
Feel free to use any prompt how they speak to you. I have them separated just to make the list a bit more manageable.
For example if you use a movie or music post feel free to just work off the tittle, or you can remix the movie it's up to you.
As usual there will banners at the end of the month. Also fill can be made of anything, fic, poetry, vid, pod fics, hand crafts. Art, icons, and wallpaper are nice as well.
This is a winter fest themed month so why not share some of your favorites and rec yours or someone else work.
Anything goes this month the only limit is your imagination.
There is a public card at the bottom of this post, or feel free to make you own here.
You can mix or match any of the prompts below or pick your own if like.
Holidays
Food
Music & Movies
Nature
Winter Characters
Traditions
Decorations
December Holidays
A months worth of special days.

Well...
Usually I don't claim a bingo unless at least one item has been sponsored and posted. But at the end of a monthly fest here, I tend to list all the fills I wrote for it whether they are in a line or not. Some of them will be posted, others not yet. Doesn't seem to bother anyone.

Cool!

When I launched this community, I looked at what people liked or disliked about others. I'm not the only one who finds the posting requirement a real limitation! I have repeatedly had a card almost full, but not one bingo all posted. 0_o
Here we do a thematic fest almost every month, usually running one month. Anyone can volunteer to host a fest. If we wind up with more volunteers than months, it's okay, we can stagger the start and end times, or maybe some folks would like to run longer fests. Look in our resource sidebard and you'll find a Bingo Card Generator where you can make your own cards, or you can get a card from any of our fests for from another fest.
Re: Well...
I decided to make my own card. Of course I put no real thought into it, just picked up a bunch of general winter prompts that I probably put in an order that won't give me a 'real'bingo.
As I asked Vexed above can you use a more general prompt like candle or tree for a non-winter scene?
Re: Well...
If candle has given you an idea I say run with it.
Hope that helps.
Re: Well...
I do let hosts set the rules for their own fests. So far the pattern seems to be that a theme helps people focus, too general can be uninspiring, but too restrictive and not many folks will bingo. Thematic prompts that you can then do anything with is likely to pan out well.

That's okay.
Sometimes I get a bingo, other times not. I've gotten to where I just list my fills at the end of the month. Anything that makes for more writing is good!

It's up to Vexed how tight the rules are for the fest. I leave that up each fest's hosts. For the community as a whole, however, people can use prompts as loosely as they wish. I've had some fun quirking mine on occasion.
Re: Well...
Pretty much. If I get five of them done I consider it a bingo 'won.'
sounds good to me. I like to keep to the comms intent so I figured I'd ask.

Re: Well...
Could you clarify that? I kinda wanna get in on this (I'm pretty much always in the mood for Christmas!), but I'm not quite sure how it works...
Thanks!
Re: Well...
2) Write/draw/make something inspired by the prompt in a square on your card, or for certain types of bingo more than one (a postage stamp combines 4 prompts into 1 fill).
3) If you want to share your work, post it online. You can post to this community, or post in your own venue and link to it from here. You don't have to post your work, because some people are making original stuff to sell, and others are working on other fests that have time delay rules about posting.
4) When you have a bingo, post a claim. Most bingos are 5 fills but some are longer, and a few shorter. List your works and link to any that are online. Look in our Links list in the sidebar and you'll see links to posts that explain how to play and claim.
Welcome!
