Friending Meme

The New Year is a good time for a friending meme. Lots of folks dust off their blogs in January, and [community profile] snowflake_challenge is running (one of Dreamwidth's biggest events). You can answer here, and copy your response to your own blog to stir up more interest if you wish.

Who are you? [personal profile] smallhobbit
Whereabouts do you live? Gloucester, England
Where else can you be found online? I'm on AO3 as Small_Hobbit

How long have you been into creative bingo? Since 2019
Do you participate in any other bingo communities or fests, and if so, which ones? Does book bingo count?
What size cards do you like playing? 3x3 or 2x2
Do you usually use a public card or make your own? Generally make my own
How often do you make blackout? Always - not a boast, they are small cards and I don't do them unless I intend to fill them
What kind of fills do you make? Nearly always fics. Also, generally they will be linked in some way, either as a chaptered fic, or following a theme
What are some of your favorite fandoms or original settings that you fill with? Sherlock Holmes (ACD), Spooks (MI5) using various AUs
What things do you enjoy seeing from other people's fills? Seeing people enjoy themselves
What have been some favorite themes? Winterfest in July, Fall Fest, drabbles
Can you think of themes you'd love to see that haven't been done yet? No, because I only know what I like when I see it. I like themes where I can change the prompts slightly to fit the era (say for Victorian Holmes) or geographical term (from US to UK)

What is your blog like? Generally unlocked, locked is for family related
How busy is it? I aim to post about 11 times a month, it tends to get busier towards the end of the month with various monthly round ups
What topics do you post about most often? Books, crafts, travel, courses, challenges
What kinds of friends are you looking for? over 18, possibly shared interests, but there are so many things out there you may have interests I've never encountered which I will find fascinating

Hi!

Where do you book bingo? I've tried a few book bingos on Instagram, but the nature of how Instagram works made it not a good fit for me, at least for that.

they are small cards and I don't do them unless I intend to fill them That is also how I feel about small cards.

Aw, so glad to hear that Winterfest in July and Fall Fest are some of your favorite themes. :)

What kind of courses do you enjoy taking?

Are there any challenges you do regularly?

[personal profile] kingstoken has a book bingo, which is here and there's a few of us who do it every year.

The free online courses I take are varied. I'm currently doing Discovering Korean music; The science of alcohol; and Icy bodies, Europa and elsewhere. I am simply very curious.

I do Snowflake and Sunshine and others when they appeal and don't make a huge demand on me.

While the book bingo is open to all, there's no centralised place for updates, we just comment on our own DW.

Thanks!

Very cool. Those all sound interesting. Icy Bodies sounds especially intriguing. It's wonderful that you can find such a breadth of things to explore :D

Nice.
