List of Prompts: Green-Eyed Monster, Disappearing, Loss of limb / limb function, Combat, Blood loss
Link to Card: Public card
The following poem belongs to my series Walking the Beat. Dale and Kelly are a lesbian couple living in Jamaica Plain. Dale is a recently retired policevet who walks with a limp; Kelly is Deaf. Together they work on adjusting to their new life and try to improve their community. Themes include gender, sexual orientation, community, disability, and adaptation.
Title: "Green Eyes"
Fandom: Walking the Beat
Prompt: Green-Eyed Monster
Medium: Poetry
Size: 1200 words, 186 lines
Rating: PG
Warnings: Possessive behavior.
Summary/Preview: Dale is jealous of Kelly's new friend Chrysta.
Notes: None.
The next poem belongs to my series Tripping into the Future, which you can find via the Serial Poetry page. This is dark science fiction about what happens after people use time travel as a weapon. Themes include loss, time, solitude, depression, and perseverence.
Title: "A One-Way Trip"
Fandom: Tripping into the Future
Prompt: Disappearing
Medium: Poetry
Size: 525 words, 87 lines
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Megadeath. Depression.
Summary/Preview: Time travel can be used as a weapon.
Notes: Extremely dark piece; approach with caution. This is the first poem in the series.
The story below is part of my fanfic series Love Is For Children. It shows how the Avengers find ways of bonding as a teamfamily and healing from some of the horrible things that have happened to them. Themes include teamwork, family, nonsexual intimacy, trust, trauma and recovery.
Title: "No Winter Lasts Forever"
Fandom: The Avengers: Love Is For Children
Prompt: Loss of limb / limb function
Medium: Fiction
Size: 83,050 words
Rating: PG
Warnings: Canon-typical violence, emotional trauma, cyclic amnesia, trust issues.
Summary/Preview: A mission in Russia introduces the Avengers to the Winter Soldier. Steve wants Bucky back and will stop at nothing to make that happen. Everyone else helps however they can.
Notes: Current environment is supportive. This story comes in the middle of the series. If you're familiar with Avengers canon it should work, but it'll make more sense if you have at least read "Love Is for Children" to set the series context.
The poem below is from my series Path of the Paladins. It features a world-weary paladin and her young novice as they try to repair a damaged land. Themes include trauma and recovery, spirituality, faith, courage, women fighters in reasonable armor, nonsexual love, family ties, and hope.
Title: "Strike Twice"
Fandom: Path of the Paladins
Prompt: Combat
Medium: Poetry
Size: 1386 words, 194 lines
Rating: PG
Warnings: Canon-typical violence. World in ruins. Child endangerment. Serious injuries. Archaic and minimally trained medical treatment.
Summary/Preview: Johan interrupts some slavers attempting to capture children.
Notes: Although this is in the middle of the series, it stands alone pretty well and gives a good presentation of Johan's personality.
The following poem belongs to my series Fiorenza the Wisewoman. This is historic fantasy about Fiorenza, the young wisewoman of a village in Italy. Her adventures are often inspired by Italian fairytales and other cultural material. Themes include community, magic, authority, parallel religions, healing, and personal growth.
Title: "Their Blood Is Upon Them"
Fandom: Fiorenza the Wisewoman
Prompt: Blood loss
Medium: Poetry
Size: 1727 words, 270 lines
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Homophobia, social angst, depression, attempted suicide.
Summary/Preview: Fiorenza's cousin Timoteo finds a lover of whom the village does not approve.
Notes: Some characters are supportive even though others are horrid.
