This is the May community post for allbingo. What were your bingo activities during April? What are your plans for May?

For April we had:
Spring Fest Bingo by fadedwings 
Enjoy a fest for all things spring and nature.
Posting will be April 1-30.

For May we will have:
Sumerian Me by ysabetwordsmith  
Explore the foundations of civilization and powers of leadership from ancient Sumer.
Posting will be May 1-31.

I managed all but three prompts on my bingo card. I haven't had a chance to list the published stories, let alone add links. A blackout is unlikely given four hours left in the day.

Pretty sure you beat me. I was hoping for more than one bingo but the prompts spread out too much. I got a lot of fills though.

I hit a snag with dinner, which took most of two hours instead of the thirty minutes planned, and that delay affected everything else in writing and posting.

Tomorrow, I can post a list of published fills for the bingo card.

This month I didn't manage a bingo card (although I wrote a lot in general!) but I'm looking forward to the Sumer theme.

Question: how many prompts for a theme do you need, in general, to make a good monthly theme?

I would say at least 25. A standard 5x5 card has 24 prompts and a center that's either Free Space or Wild Card. So you need a minimum of 24 to fill that card without repeats, and the extra means people can put a regular prompt in the center if they wish.

We have some huge lists with 80+ prompts, but most are probably between 25-50. Browse around the lists on the Bingo Card Generator and you'll see the range.

If you're thinking about hosting a fest, please do! It's not hard, it's fun, and we love seeing whole new themes even though we have some old favorites too.

I was trying to think of what theme I might want to try, and the first thing that occurred to me was poisonous plants. I have odd areas of interest.

That would be SO AWESOME! :D They have such beautiful names -- monkshood, belladonna, foxglove, destroying angel. Yes, I'm a fan too.

I managed to achieve a diamond pattern bingo for the Spring Fest. I'm curious about the May cards. Sounds like a challenge.
