Thoughts

Many hosts break up prompts into subcategories. This makes it easy for players to mix and match, or choose a specific subcategory. Plus you can make multiple public cards if you wish.

You can see how the Valentines are in Romantic, Erotic, Platonic, etc. For a canon some popular subcategories are Characters, Places, Plot / Actions, and Quotes. Because Tolkien fandom is so heavily documented, you could probably find lists of all those to copy-paste as prompts. Also consider how specific or generic you want the prompts, etc. "Mountain(s)" vs. "The Lonely Mountain" or "The Blue Mountains." Of course some are canon-specific like "mallorn tree."

Most canon fests in the past have had a combination of specific prompts and some that are easier to generalize into other contexts. It's up to you as the fest host what kind you prefer.

Quotes are often my favorite prompts because they're so iconic: "In a hole in the ground, there lived a Hobbit." "You cannot pass!" The first is specific; the second could fit almost anywhere.

I am so looking forward to your fest! :D
