"After Midnight" is awesome, especially the part where nobody expected Dawn to learn what she was observing. Duh.

Thanks. Yeah I remember parts of the show (and the comics) where Buffy is bent out of shape over Dawn wanting to learn magic and I'm like what exactly did you expect would happen here

LOL yes. Monkey see, monkey do. Even if Dawn wasn't magic, she could do something like run a magic shop the way Giles does. Everyone around her is involved in the supernatural. That is really hard to walk away from. And she is magic, so she can't.

Exactly. I considered it a bit of a problem with the writing that literally no one seems to realize this. What if she's a key to more than one realm? Might we not want to explore that and help her.

Well logically, if Dawn is The Key, she should be able to open any Gate. She's a walking Tesseract. But this a good thing if she can control it, because then nobody could trap her or use her against her will. She could just step away, or open a Gate under their feet.

Plus it would cross over really well to any other setting with Gates or dimensions: Marvelverse, Schrodinger's Heroes, Stargate, etc.

... you should totally write more of this. :D

Sounds like you could do better than the comics, in terms of giving her an opportunity to learn and control it.
