MDZS, ah sorry! Mo Dao Zu Shi is a Chinese novel by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. It was adapted into the Netflix show "The Untamed", which is how I first came across it. The novel recently got an English translation, which is super exciting. It's a xianxiadanmei novel which means it's set in Ancient Fantasy China with lots of magic and such. Also, it's a boys' love novel as the main romantic pairing is two guys. There's lot of controversy around the danmei genre since it's not exactly encouraged, in China.
But there are a lot of xianxia and danmei stories getting English translations lately, which is super cool to see. I love exploring new genres!
