Spring and Autumn Bingo Fest is Now Open

We're now open!

For the month of April, we're celebrating Spring (in the Northern hemisphere) and Autumn (in the Southern hemisphere) by creating fanworks and/or original works like poetry, podfics (especially of poems), art, meta, vids, icons, craft, picspam, recs list (especially of works other than fan/origfic). But fret not, fanfic and origfic are also welcome.

The posting period is from the 1st to the 30th of April. The rules are the same as [community profile] allbingo. All fandoms, original works, genres, pairings and gen are welcome. You may combine other bingo cards, you may collaborate with others, and use any bingo pattern. I've created a public card (see end of this post) if you'd like to use it, but you may also create your own card if you prefer. Anything goes as long as your fills relate to Spring or Autumn in some way.

For resources, other links and the full prompt list that I made, please see this post.

Create and/or cheer, but most importantly have fun! ♥

Notes: I've decided to follow US time. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I have a bingo, but today is my Poetry Fishbowl so it'll be a while before I can post it. I really enjoyed the prompts though.

>> I really want to use this card to practice writing poems. <<

Go for it! I love to see people doing that.

>> I'm new to this so they will probably suck but I hope at least one would be good enough so I can share it with the public. <<

Well, most new skills require practice, so it's natural to suck at them for a while. But poetry doesn't have to be hard. It's possible to write a decent poem in the beginning, especially if you have good instructions.

Look on my Books Written page. If you follow the links to each book, there are poetry exercises that I use in workshops, and they're meant for beginners.

>> Hey, just wanted to say those exercises are great. <<

Yay! Thanks for the feedback.

>> I did the nature poem exercise first. I don't write detailed descriptions of settings and I thought I wouldn't be able to write a nature poem, though I had chosen an easy setting. But I followed each step and I was surprised by how much I knew about the setting. <<

I'm so happy to hear that. I like encouraging people.

>> The poem I came up with is not that great so now I'm editing it. I just wanted to say, thank you! :) <<

You'll get better with practice, and yes, poems often benefit from revision.
